It seems there is never a day now where The Witcher isn’t in the news but with the series catching fire for fans of the books, games and general audiences we’ve all got Witcher fever. Much like a certain cowbell, the only cure is more Witcher.
Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll have to wait until a rumoured 2021 for season 2. Lauren S. Hissrich spoke on Reddit about how the layout of the story of season 2 of The Witcher will change as well as when it will likely arrive on Netflix.
Taking to Reddit for an ‘Ask Me Anything’ (AMA) Q&A session, Hissrich said, “the story will be much more linear, now that the three characters’ stories have started to intersect.” The jump forward in time will be more pronounced, too, in season 2 with Hissrich admitting: “We dropped the ball on aging [Jaskier] up over the course of the show. It’s hard to show the passage of time when everyone looks the same, so we’ll be approaching that differently in [season 2].”
I personally didn’t mind that Jaskier didn’t age during the years as I was too invested in the story but this can only improve the series so this is welcome and it’s also great to see The Witcher team are always striving for greatness.
To leave us with an even bigger tease yesterday Lauren tweeted that she was off and onto The Witcher season 2. What does this mean? Is work already starting on season 2? Casting new characters? Starting production? So many questions, I’m very excited.
Leaving my family in Los Angeles continues to be the hardest thing I do. But here I am. Doing it again, with all their love and support to back me up.
Onto #TheWitcher S2!
