Striking Distance Studios has released a brand-new trailer that gives a sneak peek at the main setting of The Callisto Protocol: Black Iron Prison, a maximum-security facility located on Jupiter’s moon Callisto, where something has gone terribly wrong.
Seeing the terror that Jacob has to take on is honestly terrifying. I have always been a fan of the Dead Space franchise and seeing the clear evolution of the genre within The Callisto Protocol is brilliant. On top of that, it looks absolutely haunting. The creatures look bizarre. There is a clear love for body horror in this game which is all the worse for me because body horror may be, to me at least, the most terrifying of horror. After all The Thing is one of the most disturbing films of all time and this game feels like a future story in that universe even.
From the original creators of Dead Space and starring Josh Duhamel as cargo spaceship pilot Jacob Lee, The Callisto Protocol is a story-driven survival horror game that will release on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X this December 2nd.
