Dark Deity, the turn-based tactical RPG announces a surprise launch on Steam at their E3 showcase. Brought to us by Sword and Axe. Taking heavy inspiration from the industry’s beloved tactical RPGs, planning on sticking as close to its roots as it can. Check out the trailer below.
Play through Dark Deity and experience a story with 30 brilliantly voiced characters. Some of which are super familiar, such as Kira Buckland. You might recognise her from Nier Automata, Persona 5 Strikers, Demon Slayer. Using an old school pixel art style to deliver simple, yet immersive gameplay. Every army takes turns each round moving individual units fulfilling fan-favourite roles, including mages and archers to warriors and clerics.
With more than 50 classes of characters to unlock, Dark Deity is offering a truly diverse playstyle for any situation. However, don’t get too reckless with who you send into battle. Once a character dies, he or she is dead for good. The devs did implement a Grave Wounds system which avoids the harshness of perma-death. A unit can recover a handful of times before succumbing to death.
An interesting mechanic I look forward to playing with is the character bonding mechanic. The more actions characters take next to each other the more their bond grows and in turn, more of a chance of unlocking certain interactions.
Dark Deity is available right now on Windows PC via Steam. For more updates stay tuned to GamEir and check out our Facebook page for everything gaming!
