Hey friends! I’m super late to the party with this one, but in my defence I was sick. But I’m here today to talk about Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles. This game is the latest published by Wired Productions, and comes to us from developers Luminawesome Games.
What is Lumote?
Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles is a stunning 3D puzzle platformer. Squish, bop and bounce through the Great Depths, an underwater world filled with Motes; bioluminescent creatures who spend their lives deep in the Bioverse, living on the rhythms of an electronica soundscape.
Lumote is a Mote different from others; inquisitive, and with an “eye” on power. When the shift causes the Great Depths to turn red, Lumote sets out on an epic quest to return the world to blue. To do so, Lumote must learn to take control of the Great Depths inhabitants and gain mastery of it’s puzzles in order to defeat the greatest Mote of them all… the Mastermote!
Squishy adventures?!
Lumote is a beautiful game. The vibrancy of the colours and level design is truly stunning. It holds a calming energy throughout, even with the puzzles. At this stage, we all know I’m no good with puzzles. In the beginning, the puzzles are on the simple side. However, they do increase in difficulty as you move forward. A wonderful sense of satisfaction comes along with completing the more difficult puzzles. The pay off is lovely. The stunning blues spread across the area, and allow you to pass through to the next section.
The sound design is also very relaxing. Lumote makes a cute little squish sound, it’s heart melting. The music is also very calming. Combine all that with the colour palettes and designs used, and you’ve got a perfect game to relax with.
Mastermote Thoughts
I’m going to cut right to the chase, I think this game is wonderful. The increase in puzzle difficulty is gradual, and achievable for anyone. The graphic design and audio is sheer perfection. Honestly I’ve never encountered a game quite like this before. I’ve never enjoyed a platformer as much as I’ve been enjoying Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles. The replayability is high, and the game is truly worth every cent. I cannot recommend this game enough.
