Ladies and gentlemen of Ireland rejoice! Mortal Kombat will be available to rent from your homes on May 6th.
The highly anticipated film follows new character Cole Young (Lewis Tan) as he finds himself embroiled in an ancient tournament to decide the fate of Earthrealm. Along the way, he will team up with Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee), Jax Bridges (Mehcad Brooks), Kano (Josh Lawson), Liu Kang (Ludi Lin) and Kung Lao (Max Huang) to keep Earthrealm from falling into the hands of Shang Tsung (Chin Han) and his own nefarious champions of Outworld.
Mortal Kombat has been out in other countries where it has received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences.
I myself have seen it and have been quite impressed by it. It’s not a perfect film but it has the potential to light the flames of an explosive and brilliant film series. Particular highlights to look out for include Ludi Lin as the legendary Liu Kang and Josh Lawson as Kano. I adored both of them when they were onscreen.
I will be renting it when it arrives on our shores to further support this as I look forward to a possible sequel. And if you want to make sure there is a sequel make sure to rent it as well when it arrives on May 6th.
