The ATLUS Art Exhibition 2019: Persona 5 Royal & Catherine: Full Body with Shigenori Soejima conquered the hearts of all visitors.

On the opening night after a brief question and answer round, in which Soejima-san explained some of his influences on the fan-favourite designs in Persona 5 Royal and Catherine: Full Body, a brand new trailer was shown, the highly anticipated release date for Persona 5 Royal announced. The game will be released in spring 2020.

For fans attending the ATLUS event, it was an incredible day filled with breathtaking works by Soejima-san and select art from the fanbase, such as towering Big Bang Burgers and gorgeous Morgana desserts from the Okamoto Kitchen Food Truck, and more!

Who is Shigenori Soejima the character designer of ATLUS?

Shigenori Soejima is considered exceptionally creative and talented, but humble and quiet. He is the longtime character designer for ATLUS. His style is unmistakable; best known for his contributions to the artistic direction of many of Persona’s modern team titles, including Persona 3, Persona 4, Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal, and Catherine and Catherine: Full Body.  Soejima is currently working on character designs for the highly anticipated fantasy title PROJECT RE FANTASY.

Persona 5 Royal Details

Two years ago, the Phantom Thieves stole the heart of millions of fans around the world. Now they are preparing for their successful return with Persona 5 Royal, an enhanced version of ATLUS ‘acclaimed JRPG Persona 5. The first iteration of Persona 5 was an award-winning masterpiece. Now with the addition of a new phantom thief as well as a whole new semester to delve into, Persona 5 Royal could be a whole new world of experiences.

I only wish that I hadn’t bought the original as I personally am not sure if Persona 5 Royal is worth the price of admission (a rumoured €59.99).

Catherine: Full Body Details

  • A retouched version: The story of Catherine, winner of several awards in 2011, appears as Catherine: Full Body in a new, more beautiful garb. Improved graphics, as well as gameplay, new music, and several new multiplayer options, await the player in this reissue.
  • From triangle to quadrangle: The story gets a whole new twist with the arrival of the mysterious Rin. Dozens of new cinematics and cutscenes have been added to the game to give players an even deeper insight into Vincent’s life.
  • Even more difficult puzzle: The ‘Arrange Mode’ adds to the classic puzzle even more complex blocks. These require new strategies and techniques to successfully complete the game. There are over 500 puzzles in Catherine: Full Body.
  • Always on the safe side: The ‘Safety Mode’ gives players the opportunity to activate the “Auto Play” button at any time to see how Vincent solves the puzzle on his own.
