Mortal Kombat 1 welcomes General Shao and Sindel

Warner Bros. Games has announced General Shao and Sindel as the latest playable characters joining the main roster for Mortal Kombat 1.

The two new characters are showcased in a new trailer, entitled Rulers of Outworld, complete with a first look at gameplay and story elements. As supreme ruler of Outworld’s army, General Shao has proven loyalty to his realm through countless victories in battle. He also possesses a gameplay style that dominates opponents with conquering strength and iron will.

Sindel is the empress of Outworld who fights to protect her family and empire. She does this with the ability to vanquish enemies with her mystifying hair, piercing scream, and power of levitation.

It’s great to see this new iteration of Shao Kahn. I find his new design and new background interesting. What will General Shao bring to this new world Liu Kang has created? Only time will tell. With Sindel, I don’t see much of a change. I will say though that with my time with the Mortal Kombat franchise Sindel wasn’t a part of it.

Additionally, Motaro and Shujinko can be seen in the video as new Kameo Fighters who can assist during matches with a range of support moves.

Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled to launch on the 19th of September. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).
