At the time of the writing of this article, the Kickstarter for TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2 is €131k funded. That’s twice what the initial goal was. The developer behind this, Krome Studios, wants to bring TY back to us in 2021. By July 1st to be exact. Being developed for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. While only live for a week it has gathered plenty of pledges and I expect it to do well.

Dingo Ate Your Baby!

A previous campaign for TY the Tasmanian Tiger was launched back in 2019 and succeeded in getting the game complete. Bringing the Playstation 2 game to modern consoles. This is the sequel to that campaign. The devs plan to expand upon the series in many ways. The Kickstarter reads “more rangs, more vehicles, more mechs, more EVERYTHING”. All this in an Australian themed open-world adventure.

Some of the new feature specifics below:

  • A huge open world to explore, with 18 rangs, vehicles and mechs.
  • Two-player split-screen cart racing with improved cart handling.
  • Improved graphics; including updated shadows, reflections, and HD resolutions.
  • Trophies/Achievements and Leaderboards.
  • Character customisation with new skins for TY and paint jobs for the fourbie!

From Fans For Fans

If you are a major fan of the original game and want to support it while also getting some extra goodies, there’s plenty of options for you. Option including artbooks, CD’s, swimming shorts, plushies, figurines and comics. There is something here for whatever level of support you’re willing to give. Krome Studios has you covered. Krome Studios is a small and independent game developer. Who I’m sure would appreciate your backing to help deliver the best version of the game they can. More information on the Kickstarter campaign can be found here.
