Iron Harvest, the highly anticipated real-time strategy from KING Art Games, was announced last week as being the next game to be published by Deep Silver. Many of you will likely recognise Deep Silver as the publishers behind several highly successful games, including Metro Exodus, Saints Row: The Third and the Dead Island franchise. Deep Silver will be the exclusive worldwide publishers of Iron Harvest

Iron Harvest launched its Kickstarter in March of 2018 and raised $1.2 million in pledges from backers – more than twice their original goal of $450,000. Many gamers are understandably wary of Kickstarter projects and early-access games. However, Iron Harvest‘s impressive performance with Kickstarter, and the more recent partnership with Deep Silver, are reassurances that this promising RTS is going to launch without a hitch.

What is Iron Harvest?

Iron Harvest is an in-development real-time strategy game that development studio KING Art Games calls “The RTS fans actually want!”. Development took direction from the results of a survey conducted by the developers. They asked 15,000 RTS fans what they wanted from a new title. The result: Iron Harvest.

Iron Harvest is due to feature dozens of different units, cover, destructible environments and stealth. Engaging single player campaigns (with optional multiplayer co-op), as well as intense co-op and competitive multiplayer are in the pipeline. KING Art expects to deliver updates, patches and free DLC post-launch.

Some of the games most recognisable units so far are the impressive mechs. Iron Harvest promises to feature around 30 mechanical units. Some of them are large, lumbering tanks, while others are faster infantry units.

1920+

Iron Harvest is set in the world of 1920+, which is an alternative history created by Polish Artist Jakub Różalski. Różalski’s work also gave us tabletop game Scythe, the war / management game from Stonemaier Games. Fans of Scythe will want to pick up Iron Harvest if they want to experience the world of 1920+ digitally.

1920+ shows us a vision of Europe in the early 20th century, inspired by the smoke-belching machinery of the Industrial Revolution and the Polish-Bolshevik War of 1920.
