In BLEACH Rebirth of Souls, players will be able to use each character’s unique skills to gain the upper hand over their opponents in stylish swordfights with characters from the franchise. However, they will also be able to utilise features such as the reverse action and well-timed precise combos to get themselves back from a tricky position. As the fight progresses, characters will be able to use their iconic Bankai to unleash very powerful and unique attacks to finish their opponents.

BLEACH is a very popular sword-fighting battle action comic series that ran in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump, from 2001 to 2016. The anime was broadcast from 2004 to March 2012 and a total of four movie versions have been released so far. Then there is the final chapter, Thousand-Year Blood War Arc. Which features all-new character designs and more powerful characters. BLEACH has received enthusiastic support not only in Japan but also worldwide and its popularity continues to grow.

BLEACH Rebirth of Souls is currently under development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PC.

As a huge fan of Bleach, I’m excited to see the cast return even if this time it’s only for the game. We are getting the conclusion to the anime later in the year but this is a lovely treat for fans of Bleach: Brave Souls as well as fans of the anime.

The sudden merger between the Real World and the Jump World, has resulted in chaos enveloping the Earth, with the invading villains leaving a trail of death, destruction, and panic in their wake.

To tackle this new threat, a new team of heroes, the Jump Force, is formed by Director Glover featuring the strongest fighters from across the manga universe. Players will be able to create their own hero, customising their look and fighting moves with elements from across all your favourite franchises, before joining up with the Jump Force to stop the villains in their tracks.

The trailer also provides a first glimpse at the Onyx Book, a powerful device suspected to be responsible for the mysterious merging of the two worlds.

Additionally, the trailer also features a first look at four new playable Jump Force characters revealed this week:

·         Asta, from Black Clover. The brave but loud idiot who wields a unique anti-magic sword, who dreams of becoming the Wizard King.

·         Trunks, from Dragon Ball Z. The son of Vegeta and Bulma, he possesses the incredible strength of his father, with the intelligence of his mother.

·         Boa Hancock, from One Piece. The captain of the Kuja Pirates and the only female member of the Shichibukai.

·         Renji Abarai, from Bleach. A highly talented swordsman.

Bleach follows the exploits of fiery teenager Ichigo Kurosaki who inherits the powers of a Shinigami (soul reaper), which sees him take on the duty of defending humans from evil spirits and travel to ghostly realms to protect them. Joining the roster of JUMP FORCE, which sees the greatest heroes and villains from the 50-year history of Shueisha’s influential Japanese Weekly Shonen Jump manga do battle, are three iconic names from Bleach:

Ichigo Kurosaki – Once a simple high school student with the ability to see ghosts, Ichigo became one of the strongest ever Shinigami (soul reapers) after his encounter with a Hollow (a spectral being) that tried to kill him.

Rukia Kuchiki – Rukia is a soul reaper from a noble family who specialises in Kido (the magic of the soul reapers). Her ice-type blade is considered to be amongst the most beautiful swords of the Souls Society.

Sōsuke Aizen – A captain of the Gotei 13, Aizen is a mysterious man. While calm on the surface, behind this serene appearance is perhaps one of the most skilled members of the Soul Society

I’m personally glad to see Ichigo, Rukia, and Aizen from this stage in the manga. If I’m being honest when I saw that Goku and Naruto only go as far as Super Saiyan and Naruto teenage years I was disappointed. I had hoped that Naruto would be available in his adult form and Goku available to transform as far as Super Saiyan Blue. Maybe this will be available further into the game’s development. Thankfully though this gamer is given hope with the Bleach characters. Seeing Ichigo, Rukia, and Aizen at their final states opens up avenues the game can go down with their other characters. Maybe we’ll get other characters at later stages in their lives like Gon and Killua from Hunter X Hunter.

JUMP FORCE features the world’s most popular and classic manga/anime franchises including Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Naruto and many more. Players will be able to create their three-character manga/anime dream tag team and take them into battle in hyper-stylish arena brawls set against backdrops of famous landmarks around the world including New York City’s Times Square and the Matterhorn in the Alps. Utilising Unreal Engine 4, JUMP FORCE brings these titans of Japanese pop culture to life for the first time ever in stunningly realistic detail.
