Just over a month ago we got a peek at a trailer for Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World. Developer ININ Games was so delighted with the response that they’ve decided to treat us with a new trailer. Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is a full remake of Monster World IV. The Monster World series dates all the way back to the ’80s. Where it sprang to life in arcades. Since then, we’ve seen plenty of sequels released on the Sega Master and the Sega Genesis. And now we get to welcome the newest instalment to the Switch, Playstation 4 and Steam.
Fire And Ice Wasn’t Enough, So They Gave Us Lava
This new Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World trailer features Asha and her trusty companion, Pepelogoo. Throughout the game, you’ll rely on Pepelogoo helping you to traverse the environment and solve puzzles. Using abilities like flight, extra jumps and he’s even there to stop you from drowning. Not sure if that counts as an ability but it’s handy. While Asha is susceptible to fire and ice, Pepelogoo is also impervious to temperature changes. Therefore making him a perfect companion to take on your quest.
Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World will be available on the mentioned platforms later this year. No exact date as of yet but expect it in Q2 of 2021. An important thing to note is that if you’re buying a physical edition on Playstation or Switch, it’ll come with the original Monster World IV. However, the digital versions will not. Just something to keep in mind when making a decision on which version to get. Collector editions are available for any die-hard fans of the series.
The new 3D graphics look fantastic and the game looks like a ton of fun. Fans of the series will want to keep this game on their radar when it drops later on this year.
