Curve Digital, the publisher behind the highly anticipated The Ascent. Has recently debuted the trailer and a release date for us to look forward to. Releasing on the 29th of July on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC and be available on Xbox Game Pass.
The Ascent is a solo and co-op action-shooter RPG set in a sci-fi cyberpunk world. This will be the first title released from the indie game studio Neon Giant. This new indie studio is composed of 12 industry veteran. Some of the minds behind games like Gears of War, Bulletstorm and Wolfenstein. This title will target 60 fps and have full 4K support for the Xbox Series X.
How Will You Begin Your Ascent?
The Ascent will allow players to dive deep into ‘The Ascent Group’ arcology. This is a self-contained corporate run city. Gathering creatures and inhabitants from all over the galaxy. You as the player will take on the role of a worker, then the world starts to go haywire and the Ascent Group goes dark. Life is now an all-out struggle for survival, with rival corporations and syndicates looking to move up the ladder. This is where The ascent begins and the player will have to do whatever it takes to hold off the disaster.
The Ascent is powered by the Unreal Engine and lets the action-orientated RPG be taken to a whole new level. This allows players to play solo as well as up to four-player co-op. Roam around a cyberpunk inspired dystopian world. Use classic RPG elements to improve your character including cyberware, augmentations and looting. Check out the unprecedented sense of verticality within its world, with different levels and platforms discernible within play.
